Lokee Yoga is a woman owned business started by two long time friends who share a passion for all things Yoga. Together, they aspire to make Yoga accessible to any who wish to practice and to create classes that leave students feeling empowered.
Kellee Grahn " I became interested in my junior year at Ball State University (2012). I was dealing with a lot in all aspects of my life and I needed a healthy way to cope. The more I practiced, the more I learned and experienced the endless benefits Yoga had on my mind, body and spirit. I started to practice yoga on and "off the mat" with self care and meditation. My family and friends began to notice the positive influence yoga had on me, inside and out and they asked me to teach them more about it. By this time, I had created my own daily self-practice and knew that teaching would deepen my practice. I could also feel that Yoga served a bigger purpose in my life. In October of 2016, I received my YogaFit Level 1 Foundations Certificate from Butler Universtity to teach Hatha Yoga. In 2017, I received my YogaFit Communications Level 2 certification. I continued to teach part time while I held another full-time job. In 2019, I started practicing in a studio regularly and remembered the reason I began practicing Yoga in the first place. I knew it was time to go through teacher training to fully align myself with my purpose of sharing yoga with others. I received my 200 RYT in the summer of 2021. Yoga taught me how to live my life in a more meaningful way and find stillness within myself despite the chaos of the world around me. Teaching and practicing yoga continues to change my life for the better every day. I love to be able to help others find their own path to a positive lifestyle and self-acceptance. Namaste "
Lo McKinley " My first exposure to Yoga was in a high school advanced PE class. It was a VHS tape that the teacher played for us on those rolling carts. It may not have been the most traditional class, but I knew it felt right for my body. I began practicing daily, and continue 13 years later. Doing dance, gymnastics, and cheer from childhood to high school gave me a love for physical movement. Yoga has been a place I can play with movement in adulthood. The consistent physical alignment that Yoga provides allows me to live a healthy, active lifestyle. Aside from the physical benefits, Yoga allows me to maintain inner balance and peace. It is the mental calm and physical wellness that I love to share with others through teaching. I earned my YogaFit Level 1 Foundations Certificate at Butler University in 2016, and have been teaching and sharing since then. My favorites to teach are flowing outdoor vinyasa classes in the summer, and seated senior classes. Hope to see you in class! Namaste. "
